COMMUNITY MANAGER
 

This role will focus on growing SC’s business reach as well as develop innovative ways to expand and engage our community. The role combines business development and account management functions and the ideal candidate will work closely with the COO to achieve business objectives. This role will involve research and communicating with chales (clients/guest) to assess needs and deliver on assets for curated experiences. The ideal candidate will provide ongoing support to assigned accounts, help identify new opportunities and collaborate with the management team to deliver on SC annual product and financial plan. While this role is not an admin focused position, you will be expected to have basic administration skills in recording sales processes and managing chale records.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Working with the team to identify suitable and lucrative business leads

  • Conducting research to develop and deliver effective sales plans

  • Conducting research to find new and lucrative sales opportunities for SC and documenting all sales processes

  • Supporting with research and preparations for local & international sourcing trips for SC experiences

  • Preparing for and supporting with service consultations with new and existing chales

  • Liaising with chales on trip specifications and experiences and delivering proposal decks within given timeframes

  • Itinerary curation, creation and delivery and managing SC itinerary catalogues

  • Managing ongoing communications with vendors, internal stakeholders and chales accordingly

  • Researching new and exclusive venues and vendors for SC experiences & drawing up SC vendor agreements

  • Pricing research and cost sheet preparation for various experiences

  • Negotiating competitive & exclusive corporate rates with vendors for SC experiences; updating SC vendor catalogue regularly

  • Managing relevant inboxes & responding promptly and efficiently to all queries

  • Supporting with chale payment communications and reconciliation

  • Composing and managing on vital group trips email communications to groups as required

  • Providing ongoing account support to existing chale accounts assigned

  • Joining and contributing to relevant team meetings and meeting summary delivery

 

Reporting

  • Monthly line reporting to COO

  • Weekly all team meetings

  • Knowledge of sales and negotiation techniques

  • A good understanding of the Ghana experience landscape (Other African countries desirable)

  • Proficiency in office software, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Express

  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders at different levels

  • Great organisational and time-management skills

 

Desirable Skills

  • Project management, account management or business development experience desirable

  • Proficiency in French

  • Previous experience in a sales environment or in customer relationship management will be advantageous.

  • Previous experience in the travel field advantageous

  • Knowledge of Canva desirable
